Get Out and Adventuring respects your privacy and is committed to being transparent about how information is accessed and used when you use the Adventure Companion mobile application (“Adventure Companion”, “the App”).
This Privacy Policy explains what information Adventure Companion may access, how that information is used, where information is stored, and the choices available to you.

Adventure Companion is designed primarily as an adventure and trip-planning application.

Adventure Companion allows you to select photos from your device's photo library and associate those photos with your trips.
The App only accesses photos that you choose to provide through Apple's photo-selection functionality, subject to the permissions and controls provided by iOS.
Photos added to Adventure Companion are used to provide the trip photo and adventure-recording functionality requested by you.
Adventure Companion does not independently upload your trip photos to Get Out and Adventuring servers in the current version of the App.

In the current version of Adventure Companion, this information is stored locally using storage provided by the device and application.
Get Out and Adventuring does not currently operate an Adventure Companion user account or cloud synchronisation service for this information.
As a result, deleting Adventure Companion, erasing or replacing your device, or otherwise removing the App's locally stored data may result in loss of information.
Users are responsible for maintaining appropriate backups of information that is important to them.
Adventure Companion uses Apple technologies and services to provide certain features.

In the current version of Adventure Companion, Get Out and Adventuring does not require users to create an Adventure Companion account.
The current version does not intentionally collect through our own servers:
Adventure Companion does not sell your personal information to advertisers.
If the App's data practices change in a future version, this Privacy Policy will be updated as appropriate.
The current version of Adventure Companion does not include Get Out and Adventuring-operated third-party advertising or cross-app advertising tracking.

The security of locally stored information also depends on the security of your device and operating system.

No electronic storage or computer system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Because the current version primarily stores Adventure Companion data locally, you can generally remove information by deleting it within the App.
Deleting Adventure Companion from your device may also remove locally stored Adventure Companion information.
Some information processed separately by Apple may be subject to Apple's own retention practices and privacy policies.
If Adventure Companion introduces accounts or cloud storage in the future, this Privacy Policy will be updated to explain applicable retention and account-deletion procedures.
Adventure Companion only requests device permissions that are required to provide particular App features.

Adventure Companion is a general trip-planning and outdoor-adventure application and is not specifically designed to collect personal information from children.
The current version does not require users to create accounts or intentionally request information such as a user's date of birth.

Adventure Companion is developed and operated from Australia.
Apple and other service providers used by the App may process information in other countries in accordance with their own infrastructure, privacy policies and applicable laws.
Get Out and Adventuring takes privacy seriously and aims to handle personal information responsibly and consistently with applicable Australian privacy requirements.
Depending on the circumstances and the nature and scale of the business, particular provisions of the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles may apply.
Nothing in this Privacy Policy is intended to limit any privacy rights that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted.
Privacy and safety are separate issues, but users should understand that Adventure Companion's location and mapping features are provided as planning and informational tools.
Maps, locations, search results, directions and other information may be inaccurate, incomplete or out of date.
Adventure Companion should not be relied upon as an emergency service, rescue service, personal locator device or sole means of navigation or emergency communication.
